Production area
Situated a the centre of the Hérault department, the Cabrières terroir forms an amphitheatre around the foothills of the Pic de Vissou (480 metres high). Within this circle the land varies, ranging from rugged cliffs to softer hilly valleys.
A homogenous terroir
The Cabrières terroir enjoys a Mediterranean climate, the Tramontane wind gusts all through the year keeping the vineyards thoroughly healthy. The land is largely formed of schist which is everywhere. Its deep layers retain water and warmth, which allows the grapes to ripen at night thus ensuring great natural balance of the wines which is at the root of their freshness and long life.
