Welcome to the site of the wine producers of Cabrières in Languedoc.
This historic terroir owes its reputation to its rosé wines which were the first to be registered as Coteaux du Languedoc. The reds followed in 1963 and the whole vineyard area became “AOC Languedoc-Cabrières” in 1985.
The Cabrières vineyards nestle at the foot of the Pic de Vissou which, at 480 metres high, dominates the village. They are dotted around the sunny valleys with their ever changing geological formations. Multi coloured schist is everywhere. Something else makes this attractive terroir so special : 100% of the vineyards are classified as AOC.
Since 2009, the Syndicat for the Defence of the AOC Languedoc-Cabières has been negotiating with the INAO ((Institut national de l’origine et de la qualité) for recognition as an AOC appellation in its own right.
